Please join us for the inaugural Bearden History Fair, organized by Friends of Cavett Station at Central Baptist Church at 6300 Deane Hill Drive. KHP will have a booth at the event and our own Jack Neely will speak about the history of Bearden at 2:00 p.m.
The full lineup includes:
10:45 am Introduction and overview by Amy May Emert
11 am “Marcus Lafetyte Bearden” with Rob Postan
Noon “Bearden and the Declaration of Independence” with Dr. Chris Magra:
1 pm Parade of Historic Homes: Blount Mansion, Mabry-Hazen, Marble Springs, Ramsey House, and Westwood
2 pm “Historic Bearden: The 200-year History of Knoxville’s Fourth Creek Valley” with Jack Neely, Knoxville History Project
3 pm Bearden Resident Roundtable with several longtime Beardenites
