Join us as Jack concentrates on the influence of several waves of immigrants in Knoxville history. In recent years we’ve offered more than one program about the Irish, and recently an unusual program in conjunction with East Tennessee Historical Society about the Welsh—and it seems as if we did a Zoom about the Scottish some years ago. This time, we’ll concentrate on the immigrants who came here speaking other languages, whether German, Italian, Greek, Yiddish, Arabic, Japanese, or Mandarin. There were thousands, of course, but we’ll be focusing on the ones who left a mark, who changed Knoxville in ways that may have been forgotten.
