Maple Hall: “Black in Bearden: True Faces of Lyons View” featuring Malaika Adero

Career editor and author Malaika Adero will join us for our October Maple Hall event, with a slide show called featuring her research and photographic studies of the little known Black neighborhood along a street better known for mansions and a country club. Lyons View’s Black community may be as much as 150 years old, but is now facing some development pressure. Adero’s own family was once well-known in the community, and she has been working on the story for several years and helped us with research on our Historic Bearden book. Free program.
