KHP’s Driving Tours provide opportunities to discover and appreciate the many historical gems found throughout Knoxville that you can see from a car. We hope that you may stop for a visit anywhere along the routes and explore or return at a later date.

N. Gay Street/Broadway/N. Central Street/Chickamauga Avenue/Broadway
Starting on N. Gay Street at Fifth Avenue, just north of Downtown, this driving tour makes a short stop at Emory Place, takes in two of the city’s oldest and most interesting cemeteries, proceeds a short way along Broadway, before heading north on N. Central Street through Downtown North to Happy Holler and beyond. Chickamuaga Avenue connects through the Lincoln Park community to N. Broadway. Optional legs along Emoriland Boulevard and Sharp’s Gap Memorial Park before heading back towards downtown along Broadway back to N. Central and culminating at the renovated Knoxville High School Building close to where the tour began.
Total driving distance is approximately 8.2 miles.
