Island Home

Early 20th century postcard of the Tennessee River at “Island Home” once owned by wealthy Massachusetts businessman, Perez Dickenson. Since the 1930a, the island has been home to Island Home Airport. It used to be a natural area briefly part of the loosely defined East Tennessee Birding Preservation that also included the Ijams Farm, now Ijams Nature Center.
