Discover a place where art, history, and nature tell a story—one you’re invited to explore.
Set high above the Tennessee River, the Eugenia Williams House is one of Knoxville’s most intriguing residences. Designed by architect John Fanz Staub for Eugenia Williams, a solitary and stylish Coca-Cola heiress, the 1941 house remained a private and mysterious residence for decades.
In 2020, the property was acquired by the Aslan Foundation. A six-year restoration of the house and grounds honored Staub’s original design and Eugenia’s vision, while opening a new chapter for the site as a public destination—one that connects Knoxville’s history with its creative future.
Today, nature lovers can traverse the trail system, take in Tennessee River views, and picnic on the lawn. History buffs can tour the meticulously preserved 1940s time capsule, while arts enthusiasts can experience intimate concerts, art exhibitions, and other events organized by the city’s premier arts and cultural organizations. The 24-acre property is home to more than 50 species of trees and is recognized as an ArbNet accredited Level 1 Arboretum.
The property’s 24 acres overlook the Tennessee River and the Great Smoky Mountains and are open to the public through a series of trails that can be accessed from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
The House is open at select times for cultural programming presented by Knoxville’s premier arts and cultural organizations. Visit the calendar to view the upcoming schedule.
Interior access to the House is also available through ticketed tours offered by Laura Still of Knoxville Walking Tours, one of the city’s most respected historic interpreters. Tours cost $25 per person, and fees directly support Knoxville Walking Tours.
