My Grandfather was born in Jefferson co, (Strawberry Plains) in 1904, I had the opportunity of spending most of my teenage years with him before he passed in 1984. He told me stories of heading cattle to Lay’s packing house from Strawberry Plains and also transporting HOGS in buckboard wagons and mules there as well. He told me many stories of coming to Knoxville spending the night and riding horses back to Strawberry Plains the following day. My Great Grandfather was Charlie Duignan (Road Commissioner of Jefferson Co). Really Enjoy your Site !!! Thanks for Sharing
