Celebrating 20 years of the Tennessee Archive of Moving Images & Sound, which is dedicated to preserving East Tennessee’s cultural history through film, video, and audio, the Friends of Knox County Library is hosting an evening of nostalgia and Tennessee Football, Neyland Stadium, and the Pride of the Southland Band. This benefit for TAMIS will feature special guests Bob Kesling and Heath Shuler, plus rare and historic sports footage and Tennessee-themed music from the TAMIS vaults, including the oldest known UT football film: the 1927 Tennessee vs. Vanderbilt game from Coach Neyland’s second season; footage from the 1939 Orange Bowl; early recordings of the Pride of the Southland Band; and fan-shot game footage from the 1920s–1970s.
