Please join us for our first-ever Open House. You’ve heard about Underground Knoxville, the part of town covered up by the 1919 Gay Street Viaduct project; come see our little part of it, the subterranean world headquarters of the Knoxville History Project.
Enjoy some snacks and drinks, and have a look at our ever-widening range of gifts. Among them, one you can’t find anywhere else, our brand new paperback, Knoxville Beer: A Short History of the City’s First Breweries by Jack Neely, illustrated with dozens of historic images, some never before published. You can get it signed, or not, as you prefer.
KHP is located on the west side of the 100 block of Gay Street in the Dewhirst Properties Building at 123 S. Gay Street, Suite C, but we have our own door with our name on it. We’re essentially in the middle of the block opposite the tall Sterchi Lofts building.
Take the staircase in front of you and at the bottom keep left, following the signs, to our suite — our door is beneath the sidewalk where you came in.
