You can’t live in Knoxville long without hearing cave stories. Downtown, they say, is built on a network of unseen caves, but there are others up and down the river associated with wars and murders. Which stories are true? Geologist James Wedekind has done some research into the subject, and will be sharing it at Maple Hall on Tuesday. He’ll also tell us what “karst” is, and whether it’s a word we need to use when we talk about Knoxville’s foundation. Come have supper and a drink, get there early if you’d like a seat; in his previous appearance, about Knoxville-area marble, James proved that he has his own fan base. Free program.
