We’ve just completed a series of written walking and driving tours, also free to the public, and one recent release is our driving tour of historic Fountain City. Although commerce and traffic in the popular community has obscured some of it, history is a big part of what makes that part of town different from any other. You can still see Fountain City Park, which has a legacy older than that of any other city park, and nearby the Duck Pond, aka Fountain City Lake, as well as the old school, several interesting cemeteries, and a surprising number of very old homes with stories connected to them.
