If you value KHP’s stories, enjoy them in different formats, and would like to help us reach a broader audience, please show your support on NATIONAL GIVING DAY on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.
Knoxville Chronicles highlights some of the most interesting of the city’s old true stories that still have relevance today. Since its launch in 2023, more than 6,000 listeners have tuned in to hear podcast stories by Jack Neely and Paul James and narrated by guest readers.
By helping us meet our goal of $5,000, your donation will enable us to produce at least 12 episodes (one per month plus two occasional specials) and release new episodes on the same day every month, so you will know when to expect new stories.
With the help of a scheduled skilled audio engineer, we will expand the range of episodes beyond just narrated stories and also incorporate longer, more complex, guided conservations.
Season IV will include:
4 Ghost Walking the Streets of Knoxville episodes written and narrated by Paul James
4 Scruffy Citizen episodes written by Jack Neely
2 episodes on South Knoxville in connection with KHP’s forthcoming book
2 extended episodes as part of KHP’s forthcoming Knoxville Music Archive and Oral History project
Plus 2 special podcast episodes (TBD) throughout the year
Project costs include audio recordings and sound editing by audio engineer Pete Carty; staff research, writing and editing; and podcast platform hosting fees.
