UT Professor Emeritus Ken Wise gave a fascinating talk about Knoxville naturalist and trail guide Paul Adams and his legendary dog, Smoky Jack. The dog’s saddlebags, which he wore up and down Mt. Le Conte in 1925 and 1926 sit on the table, brought to the event by Museum Curator of GSMNP, Baird Todd. On the right, the bronze bust of Col. David Chapman, the “Father” of Great Smoky Mountains National Park looks on.
