Market Square Gone 1960

The Market Square after the Market House was demolished in 1960. The common belief is that the structure was torn down due to a fire. While there was a fire in 1959, the Market House remained open for a time before City Council approving a plan to replace the building with a new pedestrian mall concept for the 1960s.
